Parts Identification
« on: November 04, 2014, 03:05:39 pm »
Hi all.  Just trying to ID the last few pieces of the boxed up Ascot VT500 I just bought.  Seems to be just about all there (at least the most important stuff).  Haven't figured out this stuff yet.  Can any one identify these parts?

The rubber piece at the top middle is for the rear fuel tank mount.

I think that the 2 parts directly under the rubber tank mount, are grab handles that go towards the rear of the bike, under the tail-piece.

Not sure what the rest is.

Good luck
J.

I agree with J ... :)

The plastic thing with the two holes goes on the front forks below the junction box ... it's easier to show you ;)

Pic is looking up from front tire.. lowest bolt in pic is upper rad bolt.

The bracket at the bottom of your pic is for the brake line ... and it lives as shown in the second pic ... inside, left fork

I think the remainder are just bonus parts ... lol

Thanks .. that was a great test of my tear down journal and pics!  ;D

Thanks for the info guys.  That is so helpful.  These are the last pieces of the puzzle (so far).  Anyone know where they go?

Those parts don't look familiar, but I have never completely dismantled a complete VT Ascot.

They do appear to be the type of part, or style of fabrication, that would indicate a motorcycle part, possibly even Honda. I would hang on to them. You might find out where they go & you could tell us.

Good luck
J.

Those last unidentified parts are the brackets mounted to the seat to fasten the seat to the frame!  Just saw them in the parts catalogue.
