Modifying stock muffler
« on: January 22, 2015, 05:02:33 pm »
Just joined, wanted to contribute something I did to the stock muffler.  I removed the stock main baffle, then put a stainless end cap on.  I tried using a hole saw and such, but just couldn't get it to come out.  So I ended up taking the muffler to a muffler shop, who cut a circle around the stock tip, and I was able to then wiggle out the rather large main baffle.  There's still a smaller one down at the bottom, so it's not totally free-flowing.  But it sounds much better than stock, and at least on my bike, I didn't have to rejet, only adjust the idle.

Should have read your post more carefully,  I've got the single .... lol sorry but still very cool. The way she runs I'd say you should consider re-jetting
