I've had my VT500 for a few months, but neglected to start a build thread. I'm getting close to the finish line, so I'd better get with it.
I bought my bike in running condition, but in need of a lot of help. The paint was bad, it leaked oil, tires were shot and it had a dozen other minor issues. I've taken care of most of the problems, and this weekend I finally got a chance to spray a new coat of paint. Before and after pics below. The pictures make it look a lot better than it actually did. It was rattle can over the factory finish and had no shine at all. I'll post more shots once I get it back together.
I wasn't going to mess with the exhaust, but now that it looks like a racer, I may need to do some surgery. BTW, the luggage rack, top box and windshield won't be going back on. If anyone is interested, leave a PM with an offer and I'd be happy to let them go.
