Clutch Cable Issues
« on: February 27, 2018, 04:39:57 pm »
Replaced the clutch cable after opening up the clutch housing to inspect the friction plates and now I'm having problems getting the bike to start. Clutch seems to be a bit tight, so I'm considering reinstalling the old clutch cable to see if that makes a difference. Has anyone else had similar issues? Any thoughts on what else might be the problem?

Did you pull the clutch plates out?  As I recall, there's couple of metal rings (some sort of flange spring and 'seat') that goes somewhere in the clutch stack and it can be mistakenly put in backwards which will cause problems.(don't ask me how I know)  :o.  My bike actually came without the spring and seat and the clutch was horrible without it.  I had to look in eBay to find a used set which, once installed properly, made a world of difference.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry for the late response. Figured it out. Just had to retrace my steps and piece it back together with a little more care.
