wind noise
« on: May 31, 2018, 05:59:50 pm »
Been enjoying riding the Ascot around but it seems to generate considerably more wind noise in the helmet than either my Royal Enfield or Yamaha DT3 with same helmet.  Anyone else experience this with the Ascot?  Even with ear plugs it's bothersome.

Only thing i can think of would be your riding position.

Since the headlight/instrument cluster is not very streamlined i got to thinking that it could be causing air flow/buffeting into the helmet area.  Got a headlight vizor/fairing from '87 XL600 and off ebay and it bolted right on.  Did help with wind noise issue.  Plus it looks better streamlined - Honda's design folks must have overlooked that :)  Attached is pdf of the install.   Al
