My starter reduction and idler gears keep binding up as soon as I bolt on the starter gear cover on. It was working before but now as soon as I bolt the cover on they stop moving. all the thrust washers are there and in the correct places. If anyone has an idea of what it is could you please let me know?
I also am wondering if the gear shaft bushings on the cover and the starter are supposed to be flush or pushed in some. If they are supposed to be flush then I am assuming that is the problem cause mine are pushed in further. If that is the case does anyone know what size they are so that I can replace them?
