Anybody changed the oil seal on the shifter shaft on an FT 500 Ascot?

I have not.

You might want to consult your service manual & see what information it has to offer.

Good luck
J.

I recently did it on a VT. Piece of cake. Is yours giving you trouble?

My oil deal shifter is leaking oil too. Do you know where to find one? Do you know what the measurements are?

To replace the seal I remove the lever bits and screw two small self threading/plaster board/wood screws into the seal and grip with two sets of pliers and gently pull the old seal out. Check the shaft is smooth and tap the new seal in with a pipe with a diameter slightly smaller than the seal outside diameter.
