Title: Steering lock on steering head
Post by: aelm on March 15, 2017, 04:34:01 pm
Hi!

I managed to break the key while it still was in the lock and had to break it open (was about to ride to work).

And now I was ready to order an new one, but the one on the parts manual is a steering lock mounted on the bottom yoke? Mine is on the steering head of the frame and locks the steering steam. I don't even have the mount on the bottom yoke.

I don't have seen any other FT with this kind of lock.

Do any one know how to get a new one?

It's this kind of lock:

Never seen that type of lock on either an '82 or '83 FT Ascot.

Check your local Yellow Pages for a Locksmith & see if they can fix it.

Good luck
J.

might be a difference in EU or US spec.
Mine )(EU spec) has a similar lock on the stearing head although I cannot use it anymore because my CBR steering stem does not have the hole in it
