Title: VT500 won't run without battery connected
Post by: G-Gaurd on August 11, 2018, 06:12:04 pm
Hey everyone
On most bikes I've owned when I start it up and disconnect the battery the motor will keep running and let's you know your generator is working .... but not on this VT500

I replaced the stator and it's the same thing . I looked at the YouTube method tho check stator and I must not have the right multimeter cause it's not showing me any voltage coming out of any of the yellow wires

Should my meter be set on a/c or d/c ?

An 'Amp Clamp' can be rally handy to check the that current in each leg of the alternator is putting out the same current, if they're not, something's wrong.
