Avon Road Rider Tires ~VS~ Bridgestone BT-45's

By any chance does anyone know how the Bridgestone BT-45's compare to the Avon Road Rider tires? I have ridden the Avon RR's for a while & like the tire for spirited street riding & hard charging back mountain roads. I needed to buy some tires for my FZR400 based project & let someone talk me into trying the BT-45's. It will be a while before that bike is ready to ride, but I'm worried that I may not like the tires. I'm hoping they are at least as sticky as the Avon RR's that I'm familiar with.

Is it true that the Bridgestone BT-45 tires run towards the small side as compared to the same numerical size tire from another manufacturer?

My next tire purchase is for my Honda FT500/CBR hybrid bike that I put together for my G/F to graduate into & for me to have fun with. It has been lowered about 2" & has 17" wheels on each end, so she can reach the ground comfortably. I'm interested in a lower profile tire for it to help lower the overal ride height.

Any other advise would be appreciated.

Well I finally found some online reviews on the two tires with a couple of direct comparisons. Sounds like the Avon Roadrider comes out on top of the Bridgestone BT45. I went against my normal policy of trying to buy as much as possible from my local Bike Shop & I ordered a pair of tires from Amazon.com of all places. I was able to buy two tires for a few cents less than $200. The local shops were around $50+ higher. Now I just have to pay the Price Gouging to have them mounted & balanced.

How many of you know off the top of your head what your local Bike Shops charge to mount & balance a pair of wheels?

Out here it is $25 to $30 per wheel!
