Hey guys, talking to a buddy about fabbing me up a custom Y-pipe for the VT, he thinks he has something lying around the shop that will work, does anyone know what the O.D. is for the stockers?
Thanks In Advance,
Elliot

Elliot,
I was not able to measure the O.D. where the muffler tubing mounts. I measured just to the side of that & came up with 1.5".
I think if you have a coupling that can close down to a bit past 1.5" you will be fine.
Here is what a P/O built for my VT Ascot.
Good luck

Don't forget that MAC offers a complete dual exhaust system for a reasonable price.

Hello,
The headers are 39mm outside Diameter , but where they go into the Exhaust manifold underneath the bike they are 44mm ( outside diameter of the gaskets ) I am working on fabbing my own exhaust at the moment as well. I picked up a Y - piece a week ago.. and need to have the ends that connect to the two headers widend to that size.
Post some pics of your progress...
cheers
