Speedo- & Tach- ometer. Questions
« on: July 11, 2016, 02:52:24 pm »
Hello,

I'll use this post as an introduction. I acquired an '82 FT500 Ascot back in april '16. It is my first motorcycle and my first year of riding and maintaining.

I am looking at customizing the bike piece by piece, starting with the gauge cluster since the speedometer is not accurate and the trip-meter is broken.
After looking around the different aftermarket gauges I find the e-bay/dime city mini speedos very nice, problem is: what would be the correct ratio for the Ascot??? I've looked around the shop manual and multiple forums including this one to no avail.

Any one could help me? Also, if any of you have suggestions for analog gauges, shoot.

Thank you for your help and I'm exited to hear from you guys!

Ben.

Greetings Ben,

Welcome to the forum & congratulations on finding an FT Ascot.

I can't help you with the correct drive ratio for the speedo. I ended up using the Trail Tech Vapor.

I like being able to monitor the Cylinder Head Temperature, along with the other features.

Good luck
J.
